EVENT TERMS & CONDITIONS
These attendee terms and conditions (Terms) apply to all persons attending, participating in, speaking at, sponsoring, exhibiting at, or otherwise accessing the Backing The Punt, Wagering & Racing Conference (Australia), to be held on 2 and 3 September 2026 (Conference).
The Conference is organised by Senet Events Pty Ltd (including its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, contractors and related bodies corporate), trading as Senet Events (otherwise referred to as Senet Events, we or us) (ABN 78 666 524 401) with a registered office at Level 13, 350 Collins St., Melbourne, VIC 3000 (Organiser, we, us or our).
By registering for, attending, speaking at, participating in, or accessing the Conference, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Definitions
In these Terms:
1. Attendee means any person registered to attend or participate in the Conference, including industry professionals, delegates, speakers, moderators, panellists, invited guests and any other participant.
2. Ticket means any pass, registration, invitation or other right permitting attendance at the Conference.
3. Venue means the physical location at which the Conference is held.
4. Conference Materials means any agenda, presentations, recordings (video and/or audio), images, handouts, papers, slides, digital content, badges, lanyards and other materials made available in connection with the Conference.
2. Registration and Admission
1. All registrations are subject to acceptance by the Organiser.
2. A Ticket is personal to the registered Attendee and may not be shared, resold, transferred or otherwise used by any other person without the Organiser’s prior written consent.
3. The Organiser reserves the right to refuse admission to, or remove from, the Conference any person who:
(a) is not properly registered;
(b) fails to comply with these Terms, Venue rules or reasonable instructions of the Organiser;
(c) behaves in a manner which the Organiser considers inappropriate, unsafe, disruptive, unlawful or offensive; or
(d) may pose a security, health or reputational risk.
4. Attendees must ensure that all registration information provided is true, accurate and complete.
3. Fees and Payment
1. Conference fees shall be as stated at the time of registration.
2. Registration is not confirmed until full payment has been received in cleared funds, unless the Organiser agrees otherwise in writing.
3. The Organiser may cancel any registration where payment is not received by the due date.
4. Cancellation, Substitution and Refund Policy
4.1 Cancellation by Attendee
1. Any request to cancel a Ticket must be made in writing to btp@senetgroup.com
2. Unless otherwise agreed in writing:
(a) cancellations received more than 60 days before the first day of the Conference will be eligible for a refund of 75% of the fees paid;
(b) cancellations received 59 days or fewer before the first day of the Conference will not be refunded.
3. Any non-refundable booking fees, payment processing fees, accommodation costs, travel costs or similar third-party charges shall remain the responsibility of the Attendee unless the Organiser expressly agrees otherwise in writing.
4.2 Substitutions
1. A registered Attendee may request that a substitute attend in their place by written notice to the Organiser no later than 24 hours before the Conference.
2. Substitutions are subject to the Organiser’s approval and any applicable eligibility requirements.
3. The Organiser may charge a reasonable administration fee for substitutions.
4.3 Cancellation or Changes by Organiser
1. The Organiser reserves the right to:
(a) alter the Conference programme, speakers, format, timing, Venue or content without notice; and/or
(b) postpone, reschedule, move online, relocate or cancel the Conference where reasonably necessary.
2. If the Organiser cancels the Conference and does not reschedule it, the Attendee’s sole remedy shall be a refund of the Conference fees actually paid to the Organiser for the affected Ticket.
3. If the Conference is rescheduled, the Organiser may elect to:

1. Where an Attendee is participating as a speaker, panellist or moderator:
(a) they shall deliver their session in a respectful, professional manner and in accordance with the agreed programme;
(b) they warrant that, to the best of their knowledge, their presentation materials and content are accurate and correct and do not infringe the intellectual property rights or other rights of any third party;
(c) they shall obtain any necessary permissions, licences or consents for third-party materials included in their presentation; and
(d) they shall comply with all applicable laws, regulations and industry requirements relevant to their content.
2. The Organiser may edit, shorten, reschedule or withdraw any speaker session where reasonably necessary for operational, legal, editorial or compliance reasons.
6. Code of Conduct
1. The Organiser is committed to providing a professional, respectful and safe environment for all participants.
2. Attendees must:
(a) treat all participants, the Organiser’s staff, Venue personnel and third parties with courtesy and respect;
(b) comply with all applicable laws, regulations, Venue policies and reasonable health and safety requirements;
(c) behave professionally and responsibly at all times.
3. The following behaviour is prohibited:
(a) harassment, bullying, aggressive, intimidation, discrimination or abusive conduct;
(b) unwanted physical contact, verbal abuse, threatening behaviour or stalking;
(c) offensive, obscene, defamatory or discriminatory language or imagery;
(d) disruptive conduct that interferes with the Conference or the experience of others;
(e) unauthorised selling, canvassing, solicitation or distribution of promotional materials;
(f) possession or use of illegal substances;
(g) excessive intoxication; and
(h) recording or photographing where prohibited by the Organiser, a speaker or the Venue.
4. The Organiser may, in its reasonable discretion, refuse admission or remove any Attendee from the Conference for breach of this clause without refund and may report matters to the Venue, security staff or law enforcement where appropriate.
7. Photography, Filming and Recording Consent
1. The Conference will be photographed, filmed and recorded (both audio and visual) by and/or on behalf of the Organiser.
2. By attending the Conference, the Attendee:
(a) acknowledges that their image, voice, name and likeness may appear in photographs, audio recordings, video recordings and other media (Organiser’s Media);
(b) grants the Organiser a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, publish, transmit, distribute and otherwise exploit such Organiser’s Media for promotional, editorial, archival, commercial and internal purposes in any media now known or later developed; and
(c) waives any right to inspect or approve the use of such materials and Organiser’s Media, subject to applicable law.
3. If an Attendee does not wish to be photographed or recorded, they must notify the Organiser in writing before the Conference and identify themselves to event staff on arrival. The Organiser will use reasonable efforts to respect such request but cannot guarantee that incidental capture will not occur.
8. Intellectual Property
1. All intellectual property rights in the Conference, Organiser’s Media, the Conference Materials and all related branding, content and materials are owned by or licensed to the Organiser or the relevant rights holder.
2. Attendees may use Conference Materials and Organiser’s Media solely for their own personal or internal business reference purposes.
3. Unless expressly permitted in writing, Attendees must not:
(a) copy, reproduce, adapt, distribute, publish, sell, license or exploit Conference Materials or the Organiser’s Media;
(b) record, retransmit or commercially use any session or content; or
(c) use the Organiser’s name, logo or branding without prior written consent.
9. Limitations of liability and indemnity
1. Provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) (CCA) and other laws in force from time to time in Australia may impose guarantees, warranties, conditions and obligations on the Organiser (Consumer Guarantees). If any of these Terms are inconsistent with a Consumer Guarantee, the Consumer Guarantee will apply to the extent of such inconsistency.
2. To the extent permitted by law, the Organiser’s liability and Attendees’ sole remedy will be limited to the refund of the Conference fee paid by the Attendee to the Organiser for the relevant Ticket. Subject to any applicable Consumer Guarantees, all guarantees, representations, conditions and warranties of any nature are expressly excluded.
3. Subject to any Consumer Guarantees and to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Organiser will not be liable for personal injury or death, property damage, or any other loss (including without limitation, liability for negligence, breach of these Terms or any other agreement), damage, cost or expense (including, without limitation, loss of profits, business interruption, loss of information, indirect, special, punitive or consequential loss or damage) that Attendees may incur or suffer arising out of or in connection with the Conference.
4. The Attendee agrees to indemnify and hold the Organiser harmless from any claim, cost, demand, liability or damage (including legal costs, professional costs and other expenses on a full indemnity basis) incurred by the Organiser arising out of or in connection with the Conference, including but not limited to:
(a) a breach of these Terms by the Attendee;
(b) the Attendee’s use of the Venue or attendance at the Conference;
(c) any damage to the Venue or any goods located at the Venue caused by the Attendee; or
(d) the infringement of any intellectual property or other right of any third party (including the Venue) by the Attendee.
10. Assumption of Risk and Health & Safety
1. The Attendee acknowledges that attendance at a live event may involve certain inherent risks, including travel risks, slips, trips, falls, illness, crowd-related incidents and risks associated with interactions with third parties.
2. The Attendee agrees to comply with all health and safety measures, security procedures and emergency instructions issued by the Organiser or the Venue.
3. The Attendee is responsible for assessing whether the Conference is suitable for their own needs, including any medical, dietary, access or other personal requirements, and for notifying the Organiser in advance of any reasonable adjustments requested.
11. Data Protection
1. The Organiser will process personal data in accordance with its privacy policy, available at https://backingthepunt.com/privacy.
2. Personal data may be used for administering registrations, managing attendance, communicating about the Conference, security, record-keeping and related event purposes.
3. Where permitted by applicable law and the Organiser’s privacy policy, attendee details may be shared with relevant service providers, Venue operators and professional advisers for Conference administration purposes.
12. Force Majeure
1. The Organiser shall not be in breach of these Terms or otherwise liable for any failure or delay in performing its obligations where such failure or delay results from events beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, fire, flood, epidemic, pandemic, industrial dispute, war, civil unrest, terrorism, transport disruption, governmental action, failure of utilities or Venue unavailability.
13. General
1. The Organiser may amend these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time of attendance shall apply.
2. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
3. No failure or delay by the Organiser to exercise any right or remedy shall constitute a waiver of that or any other right or remedy.
14. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
1. These Terms and any non-contractual obligations arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia.
2. The courts of Victoria shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.
