Public Affairs and Communications - Greyhound Racing Victoria

Damien Ractliffe is an award-winning racing journalist, now working with Greyhound Racing Victoria in a lead PR and communications role.

He got his first break in racing media working as a producer on RSN radio back in 2013, working the phones for Shane Anderson and Nadia Horne, and in 2016 joined upstart racing website G1X as a racing journalist.

Following a near three-year stint as a sportswriter for the Geelong Advertiser, he then joined The Age in 2019 as chief racing writer, and quickly became one of racing’s most prolific journalists.

Among his top accolades, he was crowned Racing Writer of the Year in 2021 at the Kennedy Awards for excellence in journalism and won the Victorian Racing Media Association’s prestigious Bert Wolfe Award in the same year, aged 30.

In December last year, he joined Greyhound Racing Victoria in a lead PR and communications role.
