Head of Racing, Moonee Valley Racing Club
Charlotte joined the MVRC as Head of Racing in 2022, following 14 years at Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA), leading the management and development of the State’s tri-code racing operations as Chief Racing Officer from 2017 to 2022.
Her expertise and experience includes the areas of wagering, media rights, ownership enhancement programs, events, marketing, media, government relations, race programming, animal welfare, infrastructure development and funding; industry training and careers, public relations and stakeholder engagement – across the thoroughbred, harness and greyhound codes of racing.
Charlotte’s racing administration experience has been complemented by 3 years working for two Federal Government Senators in the portfolios of Immigration, Foreign Affairs, Justice and Customs; Health and Human Services.
After 18 years working across three principal racing authorities in three different States– Racing Victoria, Tasmanian Thoroughbred Racing Council (TTRC) and RWWA- Charlotte took up the role as a Club senior administrator back in her home state of Victoria, overseeing the recruitment of international and domestic weight-for-age performers into Australia’s Best Race, the Ladbrokes Cox Plate. Charlotte has recently become a Non-Executive Director on the Pony Club Australia Board, with the intention of giving back to the equestrian world that initiated her love of the horse.
As a two-time Telstra Business Woman of the Year Finalist; Charlotte’s approach to industry challenges has always invoked innovation and demanded a broader audience appreciation for the product and reputation in question. She welcomes a national approach to Australia’s shared racing and wagering challenges and opportunities.
