Executive General Manager Legal, Risk & Compliance - Racing Victoria
Michelle Fielding has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Education, a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Master of Commercial Law. Michelle was awarded the Butterworth’s Prize for Academic Excellence for being the Top Law Student – Construction Law (Deakin University).
Michelle had a 25-year career in the Casino industry, predominantly in the Compliance space, culminating as the Group Executive General Manager of Compliance, covering Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Hong Kong and London and most recently as Group Corporate Counsel and General Counsel for Crown London. She was Crown’s representative Manager of the Transaction Implementation Committee for the sale of Crown Resorts to American company Blackstone. Michelle was also awarded Crown’s Manager of the Year, from a pool of over 8,000 staff.
Michelle worked as a solicitor at King Wood Mallesons, for approximately three years as a hiatus during her casino career.
Michelle has undertaken Board roles as the Secretary of a charity that provides one-on-one swimming lessons to children with disabilities; her Board experience also includes the Deakin University School of Law; and is currently the Chair of the Australian Racing Museum Board.
Michelle’s current role is Executive General Manager of Legal, Risk and Compliance for Racing Victoria Limited.
