IAN EDWARDS
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER - RACING AND WAGERING WESTERN AUSTRALIA
As the leader of all three racing codes in Western Australia as well as the State’s TAB, Ian Edwards holds one of the most diverse and unique posts in the country.
Ian has been Chief Executive Officer at Racing and Wagering Western Australia (RWWA) since 2020, rising to the position from Chief Financial Officer and bringing extensive experience from earlier roles with PwC, Bankwest and News Corp.
His achievements at the head of RWWA range from rebranding and extending the State’s premier thoroughbred spring carnival, The Pinnacles, to launching the world’s first tri-code slot series, The Western Trilogy. Ian is an innovative thinker committed to ensuring WA racing’s continual progression and development and recently announced record annual industry funding of $215 million for 2023/24 – an $11 million year-on-year increase.
He is a non-executive director at not-for-profit drug and alcohol rehabilitation service Palmerston Association and has a passion for promoting gender equity in the workplace through his involvement in CEOs for Gender Equity.
