David Hunter
Chief Racing Officer - Racing & Wagering Western Australia (RWWA)
As both the Chief Racing Officer for the Principal Racing Authority overseeing the three racing codes in Western Australia, and member of the RWWA Executive that also runs the WATAB, David Hunter holds one of the most distinctive and multifaceted positions in the industry.
David has been with RWWA for almost 20 years in multiple positions. Holding a Bachelor of Commerce, he first entered racing administration as a Handicapper and managing the racing services and handicapping department at the Western Australian Turf Club.
David was a member of the Australian Pattern Committee for more than a decade and represented Australia internationally as one of two Australian delegates to the World Rankings Committee for much of this period.
A passionate racing advocate, David is committed in his endeavours to provide a sustainable future for the thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing industries in Western Australia.
